U. of California Settles Medical Resident's Bias Lawsuit
The University of California's Board of Regents has reached a $1.3-million settlement with a man who says his dismissal from a medical-residency program 10 years ago was racially motivated.
The regents approved the settlement with David M. Dixon this month. Dr. Dixon, now a 43-year-old medical researcher, was dropped from the University of California at Los Angeles's residency program in family medicine in 1994 -- two months shy of his scheduled completion -- for allegedly
