U. of California-San Francisco -- $1-Billion and Counting

The University of California at San Francisco has raised more than $1-billion, apparently the first graduate-only university ever to reach that goal. And the university is not done yet.

Much of the money will be used for a new 43-acre biotechnology research campus on Mission Bay whose first building opened last month. The university's existing facilities are spread around more than a dozen sites in the city.
