U. of Calif. Settles With Los Alamos Whistle-Blower
The University of California system has paid $930,000 to a former Los Alamos National Laboratory employee to settle his complaint that it had retaliated against him for blowing the whistle on problems at the weapons lab.
The institution fired Glenn Walp from his job as head of the lab's Office of Security Inquiries in November, after he and an associate reported fraud, mismanagement, and security lapses at the facility, which is managed by the university.
