U. of British Columbia Raises Fees
The University of British Columbia more than tripled fees for some programs last month, as it capitalized on newfound freedom to set its tuition rates. The provincial government lifted a six-year freeze on tuition rates in February, prompting institutions to scramble to raise their prices toward the Canadian national average.
The biggest increase at British Columbia applies to the 15-month master's degree in business administration, for which tuition will rise to $17,538 from $4,165.
