U. of Arkansas Receives $300-Million Pledge, the Largest Ever to a Public College
The Walton family of Arkansas, whose Wal-Mart Stores recently became the country's largest corporation, has pledged $300-million to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, the largest gift ever promised to a public institution of higher education. The pledge requires the university to raise an additional $300-million in matching funds.
