U. of Arizona Settles With Biotechnology Company
The University of Arizona will pay $400,000 to a Florida company as half of the settlement in a lawsuit in which the university had been found liable for breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets.
In the settlement, the university agreed to drop its appeal of a 1998 jury verdict in favor of the company, Cryo-Cell International, which preserves umbilical-cord blood for medical treatments. The verdict had required the university to pay
