U. of Alabama Booster Convicted of Bribery in Recruiting Scandal

A federal jury in Memphis convicted a former University of Alabama booster last week of paying a high-school football coach $150,000 in 2000 to recruit a star player to Tuscaloosa.

Logan Young Jr., a Memphis investment banker, faces up to 15 years in prison and heavy fines for giving Lynn Lang the money in a number of cash payments kept low enough to avoid attracting the attention of the Internal Revenue Service.
