U. of Alabama Becomes a Pawn as On-Line Chess Discussion Turns Nasty

After almost three years of sniping, much of it surrounding an Alabama computer-science professor, an on-line discussion about computer chess games is concentrating on chess again. But the long period of acrimony -- similar to those that have afflicted many other Internet groups -- is emblematic of the Net's continuing difficulties with etiquette. |
