U. of Akron Faculty Votes to Unionize
Faculty members at the University of Akron voted last month to unionize, eight years after a previous unionization effort failed.
By a 388-to-220 vote, professors chose to have the American Association of University Professors represent them. Luis M. Proenza, the university's president, said he was disappointed by the election results, but he told the professors he would bargain in good faith with the new union.
