Two institutions that fell short in previous years have added more opportunities for female athletes
In recent years, The Chronicle has published a list of the best and worst institutions for gender-equity compliance. Two universities that were singled out in last year's report for providing few scholarships for female athletes — the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell — have made big gains in the past year.
