Turbulence in the Creative-Writing Program at Hollins College
To the Editor:
As a former director of the Hollins University creative-writing program, I was concerned when I read Thomas Bartlett's lively "An Unwelcome Honor" (January 30). My successor at the program was the wonderfully gifted Richard H.W. Dillard.
As Mr. Bartlett accurately notes, Dillard is "beloved" and "a selfless and brilliant teacher." ... Dillard also proved himself to be an able administrator, and his years of service and his stewardship of extremely limited
