Tulane Opts to Remain in Division I-A
And the Wave rolls on. But nobody knows how green it will be.
Tulane University announced with fanfare last week that it would keep its sports programs in Division I-A of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, ending a two-month debate over whether it should cut its losses -- $7-million annually -- by dropping football or restructuring its athletics department and switching to the NCAA's Division III.
