Trying to Turn 'Hokie Mania' Into Something That Lasts
After a magical fall of football, Virginia Tech looks for benefits for the rest of the university
It's a slight exaggeration to say that the 1999 football season went perfectly at Virginia Tech -- after all, the team did lose to Florida State University in the national-championship game.
That aside, though, Virginia Tech enjoyed what every college that plays big-time sports yearns for: a months-long stretch in which its name and an upbeat image appeared
