Training the Future Leaders of Community Colleges

Jamilah Evelyn's article "Getting on the Fast Track to Run Community Colleges" (December 14) was a fine piece. It thoughtfully conveyed the style, character, and reputation of the University of Texas at Austin's Ph.D. program in community-college leadership without sounding like an outright sell job.

In any field, universities that pay attention to the purposeful development of the next generation of leaders should be lauded. ... Too long in short supply,
