Touro College Improperly Gave Out Millions in Aid
Touro College gave out more than $36-million in federal aid to more than 4,000 students at nine locations that had not been approved by the U.S. Education Department, according to an audit report by the department's Office of Inspector General.
The report, dated October 30, recommends that the department require Touro officials to return the improperly awarded money to the federal government and to lenders participating in the federal guaranteed-student-loan program who disbursed loans
