Too Much to Learn

To the Editor:

I read with interest Francis X. Rocca's article about the new academic system adopted by Italian universities ("In Italy, Have Higher-Education Reforms Created a 'Big Bordello'?," The Chronicle, December 8). I am Italian myself, in the United States for study purposes, and I was curious to hear comments about that reform.
