Tolerance in Thailand
In a country that marginalizes its transgender population, Thailand's Suan Dusit Rajabhat University is something of an anomaly. The university's 100 so-called lady-boy students are allowed to flout the campus dress code, which demands that men wear trousers and ties.
Suan Dusit has lady-boys on its faculty, and the university's transgender students are often sent on recruitment drives to publicize its reputation as a safe haven.
