To Test Climate Model, Scientist Seeks Computers by the Millions
Myles R. Allen wants your computer.
Mr. Allen, a climatologist at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, in Chilton, England, wants to take advantage of the unused computing power of at least a million desktop machines to evaluate the accuracy of computerized models of the earth's climate. The project aims to give climatologists the ability to forecast the planet's climate decades into the future.
