A free drink is increasingly tough to come by in the Great White North.
The number of drinking fountains has declined on college campuses, say a third of those taking part in a recent online survey about commercialization at Canadian colleges. Forty-three percent reported that the fountains are often broken and go unrepaired, and 44 percent said the decline in water fountains coincided roughly with the advent of exclusive contracts with major soft-drink companies.
