The Viability of Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy has been the energy source of choice since it was first developed to a practical level ("As Universities Close Their Reactors, Energy Dept. Considers a Policy Shift," November 2). It is clean, efficient, abundant, and can be made very safe. It produces minimal byproducts, and these are generally amenable to safe, nonintrusive disposal or recycling. ...
