The struggle to save a teaching and learning center

The bouquet was a bad sign. When flowers showed up anonymously last month on the doorstep of the Teaching and Learning Center, a program that was facing elimination because of a budget crisis at the University of Nebraska's campus here, employees of the center were not heartened by the gesture.
