To the Editor:
One can't really tell how it happened, but university presses seem to have gotten the reputation of change blockers, stuck in the printed-monograph era ("Celebrations and Tough Questions Follow Harvard's Move to Open Access," Hot Type, The Chronicle, February 29). Open access? Close it up. E-books? Egad. Digital repositories? Over my dead book.
