The Strict Honor Code for Students at the University of Virginia

I was deeply disappointed by the harsh tone and willful ignorance of the article on the University of Virginia's honor system ("Honor for Honor's Sake?," May 3). The article trots out every public criticism of the system made in recent years, without once describing the strenuous and at least partly successful efforts of the Honor Committee to deal with those issues. ...

I was surprised and dismayed that neither the article's author, Eric Hoover, nor his editors
