Peter Novick has a point, and I look forward to reading his book closely ("A Scholar Argues That Americans Are Obsessed With the Holocaust," May 28). American Jews' preoccupation with the Holocaust at times reaches toward the obsessive. But Novick is too cute in stating he does not look for trouble. He positively delights in seeking disagreement, and he does not seem to approach the task of
