The Rise of Black Feminist Thought
Interest in the field expands and evolves as a new generation of scholars enters academe
Two young assistant professors at the University of Georgia decided this year to test interest in a new publication devoted to black feminist thought.
Layli Phillips, a psychologist, and Barbara McCaskill, a literary critic, posted an announcement for The Womanist at a recent meeting at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and on several discussion groups on the Internet.
