The Recovery Movement and Literary Criticism
To the Editor:
In what way do the carpenters, teachers, thugs, housewives, farmers, policemen, mathematicians, and others who find their way into 12-step meetings constitute a "middlebrow" culture, as Trysh Travis claims ("Heathcliff and Cathy, the Dysfunctional Couple," The Review, May 11)?
