The Real Reasons to Keep Tenure, and Questions About Its Success

The critique of tenure by Jagdish Bhagwati and Brendan O'Flaherty wrongly claims that academic freedom and diversity would be better served by changing the nature of tenure ("Professors Who Defend Tenure: Are They Hypocrites?," The Review, October 5).
