An age-old problem continues to vex universities
Like most institutions, Ohio Wesleyan University has long had a policy on sexual harassment, but it didn't have one on consensual sexual relations between a faculty member and a student. That is, until the fallout from one troubled liaison made headlines and left the campus reeling.
In the last two weeks, both Ohio Wesleyan and Duke University have joined the growing number of colleges and universities that have specific guidelines on sex between professors and students.
