The Proposed Abolition of the Ed.D.
To the Editor:
Arthur Levine's so-called study is an academic witch hunt sponsored by foundations that have spent millions on promoting privatization schemes for public education ("The Ed.D. — Who Needs It?," The Chronicle, September 23). While promising to "let the data speak for themselves," Levine provides no data. While saying that "there is no such thing as a typical education school," he bases his conclusions for banning the Ed.D. on the contrary assumption. While
