The Problems With Peer Review
To the Editor:
Daniel J. Myers is correct: The Peer-Review System Is Broken (The Chronicle Review, September 4, 2009). But matters are far worse than the naïve reader would conclude from his pointed emphasis on the lamentable plight of the reviewer. Editors, publishers, authors, and readers all suffer countless affronts (from work overload and time constraints to financial harm and fraud)
