The Politics and Personalities of Student Teachers
To the Editor:
The individuals profiled in "'We Don't Need That Kind of Attitude'" (The Chronicle, December 16) may or may not have a legitimate beef, and I for one would oppose any political litmus test beyond a pedagogical oath to serve the needs of a diverse student body. But is this really the most pressing issue of our day, or even the most pressing issue facing higher education?
The idea that the biggest threat to the American way of life is liberal control of the academy
