The Poet as Everyman
Does the word "poet" make you think of a beret-clad, latte-swilling intellectual or a tweedy academic? Then you probably haven't met Larry Schug.
Mr. Schug, who has published four collections of poetry, is also the recycling and deliveries coordinator at the College of St. Benedict, in St. Cloud, Minn. "Most poets," he says, "are just regular people."
He will be honored this week as winner of a prestigious $25,000 Minnesota poetry award.
