'The Personal Touch' in Admissions
To the Editor:
Contrary to Nancy Donehower's assertions in "The Personal Touch Is Gone From College Admissions" (The Review, January 10), at quite a few colleges "the personal touch" is alive and well, thanks in part to values-based recruitment messages that speak with authenticity and distinction. Donehower appropriately disparages institutional messages that sound alike; far too many colleges promote themselves in clichd terms like "making a difference," "the best of both worlds,"
