The Misunderstood Champion: Ronald Reagan's Real Legacy
Many Americans remember the death and funeral of Ronald Reagan more than his presidency (1981-89). During early June 2004, the country mourned his passing and praised his character, and people were reminded that Reagan had been ailing with Alzheimer's for almost a dozen years. A former president, a world leader, a person who valued autonomy and self-reliance, he suffered from degenerative cognitive dementia that left him utterly dependent.
