The Merits of Student Evaluations
To the Editor:
Stanley Fish bemoans the use of student evaluations -- which can seem capricious at best and misleading at worst -- as a means of evaluating teaching performance ("Who's in Charge Here?," Careers, February 4). This is a view with which many faculty members would doubtless agree.
