The Meanings and Measures of Our Killer Instincts
Early in the recent Spanish-language film Crónicas, a man who has accidentally run over a child is assaulted by a lynch mob and rescued by a television reporter. Confined to a primitive Ecuadorian jail, Vinicio Cepeda (played by Damián Alcázar) appears to be an innocent victim, at least in this case. But we soon learn that he may be guilty of far worse crimes.
