The Man With the Hammer Sees All Problems as Nails

To the Editor:

"Promoting Students' Moral Development Is Devilishly Tricky, Studies Suggest" (The Chronicle online, April 14) reveals an all-consuming arrogance and naïveté on the part of faculty members. I have lived in academia for more than 30 years and know that faculty and staff members and administrators are just as much in need of moral development as students. I will be happy to furnish the grim details on request, but examples are really unnecessary —
