'The Life of David Gale'
What it is: A film based on a screenplay by a former philosophy professor, Charles Randolph, about a philosophy professor (Kevin Spacey) at the University of Texas at Austin, an ardent opponent of the death penalty, who is convicted of murder and sentenced to death.
