'The Jewish King Lear: A Comedy in America'
In 1892, a play premiered in New York that became a staple of Yiddish theater. Yet nothing indicates that Jacob Gordin's The Jewish King Lear was ever performed or printed, at least not as originally written. Welcome to a debut of sorts.
