The Ivy League on Stage and in Reality
To the Editor:
Julia M. Klein commented most perceptively on the new David Hare play, The Vertical Hour ("Personal Politics in the Plays of David Hare," The Chronicle Review, December 15). May I add two additional points?
First, Klein refers to "the wood-paneled Ivy League office" in which the play opens. Oddly enough, there's not a book in sight. Does any Ivy League professor have an office with no books?
