The Intellectual and Moral Qualities We Should Seek in the U.S. President
To the Editor:
I found it more than curious that Todd Gitlin began his scholarly review of the rise of anti-intellectualism with name-calling, using "Gov. Malaprop" and the colloquial "Duh-bya" to refer to George W. Bush ("The Renaissance of Anti-Intellectualism," The Review, December 8). ... I found the essay a political-attack sandwich, with superficial reference to a subject that could fill many books as the meat -- and uncooked at that.
