The Government Has No More Money
To the Editor:
Every future Chronicle article that calls for just a bit more government money to accomplish this or that admirable goal needs to reference the plain facts laid out by Laurence J. Kotlikoff and Scott Burns in "The Perfect Demographic Storm: Entitlements Imperil America's Future" (The Chronicle Review, March 19). It is simple arithmetic: The government is broke and has been hiding the fact for decades with wishful accounting, the use of which in the private sector today
