The Future of Peer Review in the Humanities Is Wide Open

Peter Sigal, a historian at Duke U. who recently became a journal editor, plans to create an open-review platform that will allow online commenters to contribute freely to reviews.
Could the peer review of the future resemble collaborative blogging? Or provide speedy decisions with online votes? As humanities editors continue to experiment with Web-based technology, two proposed online tools are highlighting disagreement over what needs fixing.
