The 'Demonization' of Israel

To the Editor:

I derive little comfort from Juan Cole's "Why We Should Not Boycott Israeli Academics" (The Review, July 26). Professor Cole presents us with a list of Israel's sins, indicates that he could support a divestment initiative because Israeli business leaders are closely linked to government policy, but opposes a boycott of academics, who are as a whole critical of their wicked government.

I will not reiterate Professor Cole's bill of particulars. ... Cole knows
