The Cost of Health Insurance
To the Editor:
Michael K. Young, the president of the University of Utah, and others mentioned in "'A False Safety Net'" (The Chronicle, July 21) missed the point when they suggested that mandatory health insurance would have an adverse impact on financially disadvantaged students. Quite the contrary: When student health insurance is mandatory, insurance premiums are treated like tuition and other mandatory fees in determining financial-aid packages. Mandatory health insurance
