The Continuing Need for Remedial Education

The National Association for Developmental Education represents thousands of professionals who assist students to succeed in higher education. Since this work is often labeled remedial, the N.A.D.E. Executive Board believes it is necessary to take a stand on the issue of remedial education at the City University of New York ("In CUNY Remediation Debate, the Numbers -- and the Strategy -- Are in Dispute," December 10).
