The 'Charms and Advantages' of Life in College Towns Off the Beaten Track

I am a faculty member at Truman State University, in Kirksville, Mo., and I was particularly interested in the article about the tensions some faculty members feel between issues of job satisfaction and locale ("Where Faculty Members Land When Job Quality Trumps Location," June 22). I attempted to list each and every "problem" associated with Kirksville's rural location and then reflected upon my own experiences with these matters. ...
