The Campus Climate for Gay Students Who Leave 'the Closet'
Coming out is ultimately liberating for gays, but the process is exhausting and fraught with many fears and doubts -- even at a college or university. Diversity is often celebrated rhetorically on college campuses, but they can be uncomprehending, intolerant, even hostile places for lesbian, gay, and bisexual students.
