Research Interests:
My primary research interests are nociceptive transmission and neuropharmacological mechanisms for antinociception. My thesis research evaluated the ability of marijuana-like drugs to dampen the behavioral and spinal hypersensitivity triggered by peripheral injury. A future goal is to incorporate intracellular recording, and molecular techniques to understand the mechanisms that produce chronic pain states and how to pharmacologically intervene.
