The Benefits of Home Schooling

To the Editor:

As a faculty parent who home schools his children, I read with great interest W.A. Pannapacker's "For Professors' Children, the Case for Home Schooling" (The Chronicle Review, December 16). My wife and I are not opposed to public education, but, as educators (a librarian and an economist), we believe that we are the best instructors of our children. What better way to continue our life's vocation than to educate our children?

All of Mr. Pannapacker's observations
